FB Sellin'

I know, I know! I apoloqize for the lag on putting up a website to make items more readily available. I've been super busy with made to order and custom items, I had to put the website on the back burner. I've been asked several times when I'll be sellin' my stuff on-line and I'm finally gonna take the leap and release items for grabs on my FaceBook page. An idea that was brought to me a while back by a lovely friend=)

You will see an album titled "Up for Grabs" and if you see an item you like, be the first to comment "DIBS!" and it's yours. I've posted more details on ordering and shipping information on my profile page. Here are just a few things that will be available for grabs on August 31st...hope to see you there=)

Introducing The Mi Amour Clutch

I have been wanting to make this type of clutch for quite some time and thanks to a request from a fellow craftster we came up with this...

She wanted a clutch to use for her upcoming anniversary. Her wedding colors were red so a red velvet heart shaped clutch with a gold frame was only fitting for the occasion. This beauty can be held in your hand or worn over your chest with a long chain hidden inside.

Unfortunately, I don't have any more of these heart shells available at this time, but will have a few of them up for grabs in the summer=)

On my way...

Trying to stick with the theme of all things handmade, I came up with the idea of making my own business cards and labels. I didn't want to use your typical laser inkjet printer to create them, so I decided to go with stamping everything. I love stamps! They just give an authentic vintage look that you don't always see on business cards & labels. This is a concept that I had done with my wedding invitation envelopes shown below...

Don't mind the faded butterfly stamping. It's a reject I had leftover from the wedding, but you get the gist of it=)

So here's the first stamp that I got hand carved by LetterKay on Etsy. It may not look exactly like my logo above, but I kinda like that raw not-so-perfect look.

Oh sweet gloomy day!

Had the most exciting find thus far! A request from one of my BFFs brought on the idea of making her a knuckle clutch that she saw a well known celebrity rockin' one beautiful Alexander McQueen creation. I researched it and thought to myself that this is gonna be one f@$%in' awesome clutch. So I decided to try to make it from scratch. It's been about a month since that idea came about and I am still trying to figure it out=/ While browsing for purse frames on one of many favorite on-line sites I encountered this beauty....

Hubba-hubba! The purse God's definitely heard my prayers. Call me a replicating whore or call me what you want. These bad boys are gettin' made! I will purchase only 2 of these...one for you, Neng and one to post up for sale on my shop this summer...Yeee! So excited!

Hello blog world!

"So just let me introduce myself..."

I'm excited to place my first post on my very own blog! I've recently decided to take the first steps to combine my love of creativity and busin
ess. Two things I never would have thought of putting together. Growing up in a home where our adult supervision was off working hard for the American dream, my brothers and I were free to use our imagination to as far as it would take us. We were mainly just bored and made do with what we had. So with a pen, paper, and a few crayons I went to town on drawing images from my moms Cosmos while blasting my dad's soft rock cassette tapes on his Bose system. Another pastime favorite was playing dress up with my moms most prized possessions...her clothes. Unknowingly, making such a huge influence on my style choices today. Needless to say that if it weren't for the lack of supervision in my home, I would not be the person I am today=) I would like to thank my parents for their indirect influence of style, music, & creativity. Thanks mom & dad! I love you both dearly!

A very personal influence of this new life project is my husband, my beautiful spawn of children, & friends. With tremendous support and encouragement from these folks, I have been able to build my confidence and courage to go forth.

A recent celebration of my 10 year wedding anniversary, with my baby daddy/hubby, Chris...love you babe!*wink*wink*...reincarnated my creative bone. During the planning stages of wedding craziness, researching color palettes, invitations, favors, dresses...blah,blah,blah,blah,blah...I thought to myself "Self! How in the world will you afford all of these lovely things to have the wedding of your dreams and not put your family further in the hole of debt?" My solution! Make everything yourself! Now, I don't think I gave much thought to this tedious challenge, as I do with most of my decisions. It may have been the most stressful period of my life. Childbirth was less stressful, for goodness sake! But with the help of my BFFs and family it became one of my greatest and most memorable celebrations...I absolutely adore my circle of life, family,& friends.
